This Friday, May 29, the limit on people attending gatherings will move from 10 to 100, although seating requirements remain at bars, cafes and restaurants. These changes will affect gatherings at private residences, weddings, and hospitality venues. 

On June 8, cabinet will consider a move to alert level one, and make a call no later than June 22, four weeks from today.

“We must continue the level of vigilance that has got us here – we are still in a global pandemic,” said Ardern. “But many aspects of life can and should feel much more normal. Let’s not lose that advantage”. She added that “there will continue to be tough times to come for many”.
