Community spirit is alive and well in Matakana, with a new Facebook group to promote local businesses and products up and running.

The group was created a few weeks ago, and now has over 500 members who are either local makers, business owners or customers wanting to help grow the local economy. 

The page is a platform where folk can introduce themselves and their business; an opportunity to showcase all the great products and services in the area, and to highlight and help connect creative and local makers and businesses in Matakana and the surrounding regions.

The emphasis on the personal introduction gives a chance to not only see what is available to buy, but to also meet the people behind these ideas who we are choosing to support during these trying times. The sense of community has always been strong in Matakana, and this page is a great demonstration of that.
