The Matakana Bacon Company, famous for producing nitrate free/sugar free bacon and nitrate free sausages is now situated in the heart of Matakana Village in the Big Green Shed right next to the Farmers' Market. You'll still find Bacon Steve every Saturday at the market.

Open 7-days a week, not only do they provide their delicious bacon and sausages but they also have the Bacon Butty Shop serving hot bacon butties and baps direct to the public. Throughout the holidays the Bacon Butty Shop will also be serving BLT Beef Burgers and BLAT Chicken Burgers.
