UPDATE 8th Oct - Please plan for delays while work is underway on two sections of Mangawhai Road, expected to finish before Christmas.

• Surface repairs on 1500 Mangawhai road - Paul road.
• Realignment on Paul road - Avocado lane.

There may be times the active work area extends to 2km, so expect delays.

Recommended detours:

• Blackswamp or Coal Hill - Te Arai Pt road
• Cames road - Lawrence road - light vehicles only.

UPDATE 23rd Sept - The power pole has been removed but the cones and speed restrictions are still in place. Caution advised.

UPDATE 18th August - Removal works are now scheduled to begin this week weather permitting.

A temporary road diversion was put in place to maintain access, but a power pole was left in the middle of the diversion, creating a major safety hazard for motorists.

Numerous near misses have been reported, particularly involving drivers unfamiliar with the area.

Kaipara District Council has confirmed that the power pole will finally be removed on Tuesday 29 July, with work scheduled between 7am and 5pm.

Stop/go traffic management will be in place during the works. Drivers are urged to follow crew instructions and take extra care when passing through the work site.
