This is a list of changes to the most common fees. Changes will be implemented from 1 October 2023.

Driver licensing

What’s changing:

• Removing re-sit fees for driver licence tests.

Currently everyone pays their driver licence fees in components – an application fee, and a test fee, and if you fail a test, you have to pay to re-sit it.

After 1 October, there will be no fee to book, cancel or reschedule a test.

If you book, cancel or reschedule a test before 1 October, you will have to pay the relevant fees.

If you book, cancel or reschedule a test on or after 1 October, you will not pay.

• Changing the amount paid to renew a driver licence.

If you renew your driver licence before 1 October, you will pay the current fee.

If you renew your driver licence on or after 1 October, you will pay the new fee.
