What Should Our Regional Parks Look Like In 10years Time?Tawharanui Regional Park - Photos The Matakana App

Regional parks cover 41,000 hectares, equivalent to about 44 per cent of Auckland’s public open space. They are valued for their natural and heritage qualities, and for the many wonderful opportunities they offer for us to connect to natural places.

Auckland council is looking for feedback, ideas and suggestions on how the community would like to see our 28 regional parks protected, used and managed for the next 10 years.

You can make suggestions on a particular regional park and/or on regional parks in general by using the interactive survey, or by posting your suggestions on the online suggestion board.

For some information and background on the regional parks, topics of discussion and an introduction to the new parks that will be included in the next management plan, see the discussion paper.

It has been 10 years since the last management plan was developed. Submissions close on October 12, 2020.

Have your say on the future of our regional parks by visiting the council’s website at .akhaveyoursay.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/regional-parks-management-plan
