No plans this weekend? Head to Pacific Coast Taproom & Eatery in the heart of Mangawhai Village for great food, craft drinks, and a warm, relaxed vibe.

We stumbled upon it last week while headed elsewhere, but the inviting atmosphere drew us in and we’re glad it did. Inside, the friendly, attentive staff and buzzing yet laid-back feel made us feel right at home.

The food was outstanding. We started with top-quality chips, then shared a two small plates, The Brisket Tacos (next time I’m ordering two to myself!), and the Eggplant Parmigiana Stack with grilled eggplant, Orchard Farm buffamozzarella, and fresh tomato were absolutely delicious yummy. And a main, Pan-Seared Scallops, nicely portioned.

A couple of wines rounded off a perfect evening.
