Watercare Works Notice | Topographic Investigations - Elizabeth St, Warkworth

Improving your wastewater network: Elizabeth Street wastewater pipe upgrades

As you may be aware late last year Watercare confirmed the route of the growth servicing pipeline which will be installed between the Warkworth Showgrounds and the wastewater pumpstation in Lucy Moore Memorial Park. In the interim there will be some additional work to upgrade the local wastewater network in Warkworth.

These upgrades involve installing a new larger wastewater pipeline along a short stretch of Elizabeth St adjacent to the bridge – including a pipe bridge attached to the existing pedestrian bridge. These works will help reduce the need for ongoing maintenance and flushing of the existing pipeline due to blockages and reduce the frequency of wet weather overflows from the Elizabeth St engineered overflow point.

On 15 January Watercare and our contractors will be carrying out topographical investigations along Elizabeth St. The investigations will gather essential topographical data which will help inform the final design of the upgrade. Please refer to the maps overleaf for the specific investigations area.

  • How will these investigations affect you? Investigations are scheduled to be completed on Wednesday 15 January (1 day) between 10am -5pm (Please note that investigations are weather dependant. We will notify you should there be any changes).
  • You may notice the following temporary traffic management changes along Elizabeth Street and surrounding streets in Warkworth Town Centre for the safety of contractors and the community:
    • Stop/go systems in place
    • Reduced lane widths
    • Reduced off-street parking
    • Reduced speed limits
    • Pedestrian detours/reduced footpath width
  • We ask that you please follow the direction of traffic management staff and signage to keep everyone safe.

Once the design for the upgrades is confirmed we will update the community with further information. We thank you in advance for your patience and we will ensure measures are in place to minimise any unnecessary disruption to the community.

Any questions?
