Work on the Queen Street Riverside boardwalk is scheduled to begin on the 7th of April 2025. Masons Contractors will be carrying out the works on behalf of Auckland Council.

Prior to the 7th of April, tree pruning will be completed to prepare the site before Masons establishes on-site.

The project involves the removal of the existing concrete footpath and the construction of a new boardwalk to provide access from Queen Street, adjacent to Sterling Sports, to the Riverside walkway, which will connect to the underpass walkway under the Mahurangi River bridge.

The estimated duration of the project is approximately four months.
