Yesterday afternoon a teenage girl was seriously injured in the surf at Omaha Beach.

Emergency services were called and she was flown to Starship hospital by The Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

The young woman is now in a stable condition at Starship, according to an Auckland DHB spokeswoman.
