We are pleased to highlight the outstanding work being undertaken by students of Horizon School Snells Beach, under the expert guidance of Mr Steve Pound, Teacher of Automotive and Engineering.

Visitors to the recent Saturday Classic Car event at the Hibiscus Coast Café, Snells Beach, were treated to a display of student-built vehicles – an impressive demonstration of the hands-on, applied learning approach championed by the school’s engineering programme.

This initiative offers students the opportunity to engage in real-world projects that foster both technical proficiency and personal growth. Through their participation, students gain experience in:

• Mechanical engineering and vehicle restoration
• Fabrication and workshop operations
• Safe use of tools and machinery
• Innovation, problem-solving, and teamwork

Beyond the classroom, this programme instils a sense of pride, purpose, and accomplishment, as students see their efforts brought to life through tangible outcomes.
