Moir Street rehabilitation works underway

Essential road rehabilitation and drainage improvement works on Moir Street start on Monday 17 February and are expected to be completed by the end of April.

The works include reinstating the road condition to support the high volume of traffic. Drainage work is also part of the programme, along with a new level crossing at Urlich Drive and an improved temporary bus stop near Bennetts.

Key points

• The section between house numbers 48 and 104 Moir Street will be the focus of the works.
• To minimise full road closures, there will be single lane closures, managed with stop/go.
• There will be one (overnight) full road closure on the section outside Bennetts. We will notify the date and time via Council channels once it is scheduled.
• Some driveways will need to be reinstated to match the new road height. We will make every effort to maintain access for residents; however, there may be times when vehicles cannot cross freshly laid concrete while it cures. Affected residents will be contacted directly in advance of such disruptions.

Phases

• The first phase involves drainage improvements along the northern lane, beginning near the Domain and progressing towards the village.
• Once most of the drainage work is complete, pavement rehabilitation will begin, involving the removal of the existing pavement and the reconstruction of the road with an overlay.
