Reports coming through of it being possible to get from Auckland to Warkworth then Whangarei, but Dome is closed. Use SH1, SH16, then Waipu detour.

CLOSED

• Matakana Valley Road – slips, down to one lane, be very careful. Large vehicles won’t make it.
• Pakiri Hill Road – blocked and not passable use Matakana Valley Road.
• SH1 DOME Valley is closed. Due to slips & fallen trees SH1 is closed through the Dome Valley, between Kaipara Flats Rd and Wayby Valley Rd, and likely to remain closed all day today (Wed 15 Feb). USE SH16.
• SH16 under caution. Take extra care, drive with caution as there are patches where the road is narrowed with slips and trees but still passable. Possible to get from Auckland to Whangarei using SH16, SH1, Waipu detour.
• SH1 closed at Brynderwyns, take alternative Waipu route.
• SH12 is closed between Omapere and Dargaville .. and also near Baylys Rd
• SH16 closed at Kaukapakapa

CAUTION

Takatu Road in Tawharanui has road damage where big cracks have formed. Down to one lane in places.
