The Ara Tūhono - Pūhoi to Warkworth Project advises there will be nighttime lane closures and road layout changes on State Highway 1 (SH1) near the Johnstones Hill Tunnels over the next few months.

From Sunday 20 September to Thursday 01 October (not including Friday and Saturday) there will be night works happening north of the tunnels with stop/go traffic management in place from 8.00 p.m. to 5.00 a.m.

Works will include temporary lane closures and road layout changes on the Pūhoi side of the tunnels. All northbound SH1 traffic will be moved to a southbound tunnel lane. The Hibiscus Coast Highway northbound lane will be closed, with traffic diverted onto the southbound lane, under stop/go traffic management.

Safety is the highest priority and the reduced speed limit of 60km/h will remain in place for the duration of the works. Motorists may experience longer travel times and are encouraged to plan ahead, slow down and to take care when driving through the area.
