Aotearoa has seen near record temperatures in many locations across the country this week, especially in the central North Island.
Meteorologists marked Wednesday as the fifth consecutive day of maximums above 30C, for only the third time in recorded history. Today’s weather showcased more of what is to come for the remainder of the week, with showers expected overnight in Auckland and Northland.

Friday will be a cool 24C for Warkworth and back to 27C/28C for the rest of the week. Don’t forget to drink plenty of water and continuously apply sunscreen!
