We are still experiencing extreme weather in the Mangawhai area. MetService has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the Kaipara, Whangarei and Rodney area.

These severe thunderstorms are moving towards the south southwest, and are expected to lie near WELLSFORD, KAIWAKA, MANGAWHAI, BRYNDERWYN, TE ARAI and WAIPU COVE at 06:00 pm and near WELLSFORD, KAIWAKA, MANGAWHAI, BRYNDERWYN, TE ARAI and WAIPU COVE at 06:30 pm. These thunderstorms are expected to be accompanied by torrential rain.

Please stay where you are and do not travel. The roads are extremely treacherous and you should not drive anywhere unless it's an emergency.

🔵 St John's Hall in Kaiwaka (opp the 4square) is also open for stranded drivers
