Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has announced New Zealand is going to move to alert level three at midnight on Monday, April 27, and will stay there for two weeks. After those two weeks, cabinet will track the data and review our position before determining how to best move forward.
Schools will be able to open from April 29 for those who need to attend.
“The Director General of Health is confident that there is currently no widespread undetected community transmission in New Zealand,” said Ardern. “In short, the effort of our team of five million has broken the chain of transmission and taken a quantum leap forward in our goal to eliminate the virus.”
