NORTHLAND STATE HIGHWAYS - ROADS STATUS

UPDATE 6:30AM, THU 18 AUG

Following heavy rainfall overnight (Wednesday night, 17 Aug), and with more rain forecast throughout the day today, State Highway's across Northland and the Far North are impacted at the following locations:

- SH1 Hikurangi - Road Closed - Tree down, both lanes currently blocked north of Jordan Valley Rd in the Hikurangi area. Allow extra time for short detour via Hikurangi.

- SH1 Mangamuka Gorge - Lane Blocked - Slips and fallen trees. Allow extra time.

- SH1 Waiomio - Fallen tree reported near Tarakihi Rd, south of Kawakawa.

-SH11 Opua - Fallen tree reported north of Waikare Rd.

Please take extra care on any journey this morning - slow down, increase your following distance and be mindful of possible slips, surface flooding and/or fallen trees on roads in the area.
