Another person has died after a serious crash on State Highway 11 at Kawakawa in Northland.

One car was involved in the crash on Pahia Road (SH11), near the bottom of Lemans Hill, It was previously reported it had involved two cars.

The incident was reported at about 4.40 pm on Saturday Afternoon.

The road was closed and diversions were in place while the Serious Crash Unit and emergency services worked at the scene, police said the road had reopened by 10 pm.

This accident takes Northlands road toll to 14.
