Heads up Mangawhai, Kaipara District Council (KDC) has advised the give way priority sign will be reversed on the one-way bridge on Cove Road just south of King Road. Currently the give way sign is on the flat heading from the Heads to Tara road.

This will soon be reversed so that drivers headed to the Heads coming down the hill will have to give way. KDC has said this change comes following community feedback that reversing the priority will make the bridge safer for both directions. This announcement has already received mixed opinions, with locals both for and against this change.

Works are pencilled in for Saturday 8 June. Please go slow and with caution until this new give way becomes common place as it may catch out a number of locals!
