We are starting work on the road renewal on Mahurangi East Road, this Wednesday 26 November. The northbound lane will be closed between Amanda Lane and Kauri Crescent. A detour will be in place, see the picture below for details. The southbound lane will remain open with speed restrictions.

Businesses will remain open with access available.

We will be working between 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday, and Saturdays as required. We expect to work overnight (8pm to 5am) on Sunday 14 December, weather dependent.

This stage of works is expected to take about 3 weeks (weather dependent) and then we will pause works for the busy holiday period and return once traffic volumes have reduced in 2026, for a further 10 weeks.

We will be rebuilding the pavement of the road, which involves excavation, concrete works and asphalting. We will work in stages to allow traffic access to shops and side streets.
