Mahu Vollies are stepping in to help our community with lockdown assisted shopping at New World.
“The response today saw fewer number than last year, but it was still a positive one”, said Grant Henderson of the Warkworth Lions Club.
Last year in lockdown level four there were 30 to 40 people a day requesting assistance with their shopping. As the word gets out, the numbers are anticipated to grow.
New World was more than happy to assist the Lions and had the section just inside the front door manned for payments by Ross Kemp, the Customers Services Manager.
Grant Henderson and Maya Lawrence of the Lions Club are fully vaccinated volunteers.
If you know of anyone who is in need of assisted shopping, please do let them know. The Lions will be doing another assisted shopping again this coming Tuesday.
