Speed Limits Consultation
NZTA is currently consulting in several regions across the country from 30 January to 13 March 2025 to gauge public support for maintaining reduced speed limits at specific state highway locations.
Unless there is clear public support to keep these lower limits, NZTA is required to revert the affected locations back to their previous speed limits by 1 July 2025.
In Auckland, the consultation focuses on two sections of interregional state highway on State Highway 1, located north of Auckland:
Following the consultation period, NZTA will share the results along with future dates for any confirmed speed limit changes in Auckland during 2025.
