Police have released the name of the man who died in the car crash in Warkworth on Sunday evening.

The man was Warkworth local Christian Herbulot, aged 55.

Police were called to the scene just after 5:00 p.m. on Sunday November 22nd, but tragically, by the time they managed to get into the car, they found the sole occupant deceased. Thankfully, no bystanders were harmed. 

The car had come down Neville street and over the roundabout before becoming airborne over the playground and crashing into the Mahurangi river. The circumstances of the crash are still being investigated.
