Locals have reported that a truck has accidentally lost a load off of the back of it's cab, causing mayhem in Dome Valley.

According to Waka Kotahi, this could mean the road could be closed for up to two hours.

It is recommended to take SH16 heading south from Wellsford. The dome is closed to all southbound traffic, cars are being turned around by Wayby Road.

UPDTATED AT 6:41PM

A local has mentioned that there may be another 1-2 hour wait before the road is open again, however Google Maps suggests closure until 7pm.
