Today there are 50 new cases of Covid-19 in New Zealand. There are 26 confirmed cases, and 24 new probable cases. Four people are currently in intensive care.
The decrease in cases seems to indicate that the level four lockdown is working.
When asked whether there can now be a definitive government position on a lockdown extension, PM Jacinda Ardern said “the data we’re making decisions on is real time,” so it is still too early to say. Bloomfield agreed that there were positive signs, but that more testing needed to be done to identify previously unseen clusters.
There are now 282 reported cases of people who have recovered from Covid-19, an increase of 41 from yesterday, and there have been no additional deaths. The total number of cases is 1210.

“The number of new cases has fallen for two consecutive days, despite a huge increase in testing, with 54 confirmed or probable cases reported Tuesday. That means the number of people who have recovered, 65, exceeds the number of daily infections.”
