A man has been found dead after a water-related incident at Auckland's Orewa Beach.

Police said a man in a dinghy was reported overdue from his trip at around 2.30pm on Saturday.

His body was later located on the beach at around 11.45pm.

The death would be referred to the coronor, police said.
