A temporary COVID-19 testing facility in Wellsford, detected four cases of COVID-19 yesterday. All the patients have recently returned from overseas in the last few days. There was no connection between any of the patients and they all returned from different countries. No other information has been released at this stage.
According to the Ministry of Health website some of the symptoms of COVID-19 are a cough, a high temperature (38°C +) and shortness of breath. Be aware if you have these symptoms and have recently been overseas, or have been in close contact with someone confirmed with COVID-19, please telephone Healthline on 0800 358 5453 or your doctor.
The symptoms are similar to other common illnesses, such as cold and flu. These symptoms do not necessarily mean you have COVID-19 Currently New Zealand is at Alert Level 3. It moves to Alert Level 4 at 11.59pm tonight.
