We’re looking for an energetic, organised and social person to run the Matakana Village Farmers’ Market.
The Farmers’ Market is a beloved part of the community as well as a much loved destination for visitors from farther afield. We’re proudly a zero waste market with a focus on sustainability and where only locally grown and made produce is sold.
The ideal candidate will be:
- Organised with impeccable record-keeping and sound administrative skills.
- You will create some basic content for our social media and website, take initiative and work independently.
- Your people skills allow you to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of people.
- You’ll need some physical ability to move umbrellas and other large objects during the setup of the markets.
You will continue to grow the community spirit around the markets, taking it to the next level.
Hours are: 16 per week including Saturdays.

You will be tasked with managing the day to day running of the Saturday Farmers’ Market, this includes:
- Ensure market stalls are filled with our long term stallholders each week.
- Source new stallholders when stalls become available to fill.
- Maintain a balance of stallholders selling a variety of produce and products to ensure the market has a wide range of products available which represent our ethos of locally grown and made.
- Record keeping and administration.
- Maintain open and regular communications with stallholders.
- On market days you will help set up the markets in the morning and are present throughout the day.
- You will be the face and representative of the MVFM working together with the Matakana Village Marketing and Communications Manager in hosting media, managing our social media channels and producing content.
