The Lions Club of Warkworth was Chartered in February 1966. Meetings are on 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month.

Among the club projects and activities are the annual Take a Kid Fishing for children up to 12 years, The Kowhai Festival (the club was a founding member 50 years ago) ,Mahurangi Winter Festival of Lights (founding member), Young Ambassadors and Young Speechmakers. We are also active in a Food Rescue scheme which supplies food daily to the local food bank.

In 2020 we were focused on an appeal for the Australian Bushfires and have been able to send over $22,400 to LCIF Australia.

In June 2021,the club took on being the lead in the Starship PICU appeal. This has a goal of $406,700 to provide an additional Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at the Starship National Children's Hospital.
