Nau Mai, Haere Mai - Welcome
Our W.A.K.A Values - Whakaute (Respect), Ako (Learning), Kotahitanga (Unity), Aroha (Love)
OUR VISION
"Kotahi te Hikoi Whakamua," our school whakatauki, translates as "Forward, Together as One." As a community, we have developed a shared vision based on our four guiding principles (pou) - Unity/Kotahitanga, Love/Aroha, Whakaute/Respect and Ako - A reciprocal learning approach. These are evident in the stories etched into our Waharoa. We work together to build our future.
Pakiri School is the hub of the valley. Whanaungatanga (being a family) is evident in daily life. We work in partnership with our people. Learning about our whenua (lands) and its diverse histories weaves us together creating a sense of belonging. We are proud of our unique place in our world.
Laughter, positive language and respect are evident in the way we, as a learning community, behave. Our kaiako are passionate about our tamariki and together they create a safe and positive learning environment. Our local curriculum embodies Tikanga and Te Reo alongside strong Literacy and Numeracy programmes. It is important for us to learn these together. The evidence of our mahi is clearly visible as our tamariki leave the kura.
Pakiri is unique in size, allowing akonga to develop life skills and enjoy educational success in a special environment which values its unique culture.
Pakiri School is a semi-rural primary school situated near Pakiri Beach, whose localised curriculum connects to the natural resources on its doorstep.
We offer individualised learning programmes in composite classes, and run from year 1-8.
