Bring along a well-loved item and discover the joy of slow fashion and sustainable style. Have you got a favourite top with a hole or a pair of jeans that need some love? Instead of sending it to landfill, give it a creative second life!
In this hands-on Visible Mending Workshop, you’ll learn various ways to repair and re-vamp your clothes using patching and embroidery techniques. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned stitcher, you’ll leave with the skills (and confidence!) to turn wear and tear into wearable art.
Your hosts: Mahurangi Wastebusters and Fabric Rescue
Maximum number of participants: 10
Cost: Free
What to bring: clothes to mend, assorted scraps of fabric, hand-sewing needles, threads e.g. cotton, sashiko/embroidery thread. (Don’t worry, we will provide extra threads and fabrics if you don’t have any in your craft stash).
