The Stables Bootleg Social Club: Chapter One @ The Stables Events Venue

The Stables Bootleg Social Club: Chapter One @ The Stables Events Venue

Fri 05 Sep 2025, 7:00 AM - 11:45 AM

1151 Leigh Road, Matakana Country Park, Matakana 0985

Welcome to Bootleg Social Club, a new Stables Collective series built for those who want more from their night out. It’s all about the sound. Bold, beautiful, and impossible to ignore.

Expect curated nights of serious live music, in an intimate venue with just the right amount of swagger and soul. From deep blues and raw rhythm and roots to soul-stained ballads, Southern brass, and low-slung funk, Bootleg Social Club is a love letter to the real thing played live, played loud, and made for Matakana.

CHAPTER ONE:

THE COOK COUNTY SLAMMERS

Fronted by Eli Ropata, The Cook County Slammers are a 7-piece band of full-bodied blast, horn-heavy rhythm and blues soaked in soul. Think Blues Brothers swagger, with big brass and tight grooves that hit hard.

STOREHOUSE

A self-described high-performance blues engine.

Electric juke music built for Friday nights with deep blues, calypso, spirituals, and an undeniable rhythm section. Fronted by Tom Rodwell, Storehouse is less a band, more a bohemian transmission; raw, improvised, and rhythm-first. Expect a lot.

Dress sharp. Bring a date. Or just bring your ears.

There’s space to dance and space to watch at The Stables.

Bootleg Social Club is unlike anything Matakana has seen before.
