LEARN A NEW SKILL THIS SUMMER!

The Kids Summer Surf Program offers a 3-day progressive surf experience, featuring three lessons each lasting from 9:30 am to 11:00 am. Held weekly throughout the summer school holidays, sessions take place at Te Arai Beach and Orewa Beach. Te Arai stands out as the top local beach for learning to surf, boasting pristine white sand and consistent ocean conditions. Meanwhile, Orewa Beach, equally magnificent, serves as an ideal spot for our Auckland groms to hone their skills.

Our program ensures a seamless experience with changing rooms and toilets available, along with all necessary equipment provided by Aotearoa Surf. Our goal is to empower every participant to surf to the best of their ability over the course of three lessons. With a focus on fun, holistic learning, and challenging activities, surfers are grouped by age and ability, with new techniques introduced daily. Rest assured, all surfboards and wetsuits are included in the program.

OUTLINE:

Beach safety and awareness, including understanding wind and waves

Surfboard basics: design, entry, and handling

Wave-catching techniques with proper positioning

Paddling, pop-up technique, and riding waves

Speed, acceleration, and control

Frontside and backside turns for manoeuvring
