Join us for a special presentation with Ecologist Dr Virginia Moreno, who will share the latest kiwi monitoring results from the Tāwharanui buffer zone.
Drawing on five years of monitoring, Dr Moreno will present data that shows kiwi are successfully establishing and expanding beyond the sanctuary fence.
The talk will also highlight how protecting kiwi benefits other taonga species like the Omaha Shorebirds, and include insights from recent Matuku-hūrepo (Australasian bittern) monitoring.
This is a great opportunity to raise awareness of our local kiwi populations, learn practical actions you can take to support kiwi conservation, and hear about upcoming opportunities such as Kiwi Avoidance Training sessions for dogs.
Come along, learn more about the incredible taonga living in our backyards, and find out how you can be part of their protection.
